Get Moving to Get Your Brain Moving!


One of the key lifestyle changes for maintaining your memory, is movement. You want to choose types of movement that you enjoy or will enjoy. You can move in your own home, at a gym, or outdoors. Your choice.

There are several kinds of movement that are beneficial. You want to get your heart rate up a little bit, so anything aerobic is good. It could be marching in place while you're watching tv. walking around your neighborhood, using a treadmill.

You want to be stronger. flexible. have stamina. be balanced. be able to move comfortably.

One of my favorite programs was developed by Marion Nelson, PhD. She wrote several books about this, with the first one being Strong Women Stay Young. If you would like to learn about the program and see how to do the exercises, this is a great introductory video.
